Mary (Patty)'s Story
Life
My name is now Patty Bowlin. I have been married for 12 years to a wonderful man named Jim Bowlin. I have to wonderful children from a previous marriage. They are Stephanie who is 20 and Steven who is 17.
Jim and the kids get along real well. If you didn't know it and you ran into us out somewhere you would think that they were his kids also.
I was able to stay at home and homeschool them. I have been able to stay at home for the last 10 years. My husband is a registered nurse.
Jim and I go to Gloryland Baptist Church in Forestdale Al. Jim preaches at a nursing home in our area one Sunday every month and I make a joyful noise singing specials and supporting him while he preaches.
I worked at a daycare when I first got out of school, for about 5 years (that includes my senior year that I worked there. Then I went to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield Of Texas for 8 ye...Expand for more
ars. After Jim and I got married we lived in Texas for 2 years. Then we moved to Alabama where he is from to help take care of his mom (who has emphysema.) She passed away in March 2002. We live right outside of Birmingham, which is like living in Garland or Mesquite outside of Dallas.
I love it in Alabama. The weather doesn't get as hot as it did in Texas and we see a little bit more snow then we did in Mesquite/Garland. We have deer that come up to our back yard in the fall. We are about 5 hours from the Mountains in Tennessee and about 5 hours from the coastline.
I have been in college for the past year. I am trying to get into nursing school. I have one class to take this summer 2008 and then all I will have in the Fall 2008 will be nursing classes. When I graduate and get some experience Jim and I hope to travel doing nursing jobs in different states so we can sight see.
